Ugo Colombo’s THE COLLECTION Supports Toys for Tots

On Saturday, December 5, 2015, the “South Florida Exotic Car ‘TOY RALLY’, to benefit Toys for Tots celebrated its 10 year anniversary, as it ‘took to the streets’ for charity. This event is one of the largest processions of exotic cars and one of the most anticipated exotic car events in the country!

Hundreds of exotic cars were driven from the beautiful Diplomat Golf & Tennis Club, up to the amazing Goodyear Airship Base, home of the Goodyear Blimp. The caravan of exotic cars stretched miles long and the 2015 Toy Rally broke some amazing records. It contained over $50 million in exotic cars, it saw record attendance, and it included a huge mountain of toys (over 2,100 toys)!

Ugo Colombo’s THE COLLECTION was proud to be a sponsor for this event. Another year, and another success for this important cause!

Ugo Colombo Celebrates Art Basel

Haute Living held its annual Art Basel blowout on December 4^th. The evening started with an intimate collector’s dinner party sponsored by Hublot, Ugo Colombo’s The Collection and Perrier Jouët at Miami Heat star – and Collection brand ambassador – Dwyane Wade and actress Gabrielle Union’s waterfront home in Miami Beach.

The sprawling entrance of the property was transformed into a magic garden, with a topiary maze featuring works by pop artist Mr. Brainwash aka. Thierry Guetta walls and flower wall by Olyve Flowers.

Guests included Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez, actor-artist Adrien Brody, the Heat’s Justise Winslow, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe, artist Romero Britto, Jorge Perez, Darlene Perez, Sara Colombo, and Ugo Colombo.

“My wife and I are very thankful to be able to open our doors to you. It took us four years to build this house, we just moved in last year, so it’s great to host our first event here with partners Hublot and The Collection,” said Wade.

Ugo Colombo’s THE COLLECTION Meets with Local Campers

The mission of Coral Gables Museum is to celebrate, investigate and explore the civic arts of architecture and urban and environmental design, including fostering an appreciation for the history, vision, and cultural landscape of Coral Gables.

Their City Trekker Camps explore the City of Coral Gables. The young campers visited Ugo Colombo’s THE COLLECTION on a field trip earlier this summer and learned more about each of their favorite brands.

Ugo Colombo Discusses Brickell Flatiron: A Piece of New York in Miami

Ocean Drive recently sat down with Ugo Colombo to discuss his latest project, the 64-story Brickell Flatiron that will soar 700 feet, have a rooftop pool, spa, and fitness center, include artwork by Julian Schnabel, and will have an unobstructed 360-degree views over glistening Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami.

Marcelle Sussman Fischler begins by discussing Ugo Colombo’s CMC Group and his history of successes in Miami including Epic Residences & Hotel; the Bristol Tower on Brickell Avenue; the posh Santa Maria; Aventura’s chic Porto Vita; and The Collection, his seven-brand luxury automobile dealership.

Fischler asks Ugo Colombo about his ethos when conceptualizing a development, the influence of the Miami culture on design, and his thoughts on the supposed real estate bubble. Fischler also specifically asks Colombo about his passion for Brickell Flatiron.

“I always thought what you see happening now [in Brickell] would eventually happen,” begins Colombo. “This is a little piece of New York inside Miami. You are in an area where you are walking distance to go to work, you have access to tons of restaurants, you have access now to department stores and a bit of retail within a few blocks. You have the best restaurants, all moving to this area. You have access to the Metrorail, and you have access to the offices in the Financial District.”

Ugo Colombo: It’s All in the Details

In a recent Miami Herald piece, Ugo Colombo explains why the designs of his projects are all about the details.

“The Italian-born developer oversees nearly every inch of his projects,” the article begins “from the intricate mosaics at the Collection, a luxury car dealership in Coral Gables, to the porthole-shaped windows that adorn Grovenor House, a 32-story condo tower with a nautical theme in Coconut Grove.”

Architect Luis Revuelta, who has worked with Ugo Colombo and CMC Group for 25 years says Ugo Colombo “…insisted on importing Venetian stucco, Italian kitchen fixtures and Azurelite glass,” for the famous Bristol Tower that was built in 1993.

Ugo Colombo is continue his hands-approach – and attention to detail – in his latest project, Brickell Flatiron. “’In order to really pay attention to what I’m doing, I need to work out a floor plan and personally look at what side each door swings and be happy with the column placement and how the whole building flows and functions,’” says Ugo.

Developer Alan Ojeda says Ugo Colombo “…invests so much time personally. We all pay attention to detail, but with Ugo it’s an exquisite attention to detail, a real passion.”

Doctors Hospital “ThunderBall” Gala

One of the biggest galas of the season — the Doctors Hospital “ThunderBall” Gala — took place last month. Ugo Colombo’s THE COLLECTION was proud to be a sponsor again this year and they provided the event with a multitude of Porsche displays which included the Macan Turbo, Porsche Boxster GTS, Panamera S E-Hybrid, Cayenne Turbo, Carrera 4 GTS Coupe and the 911 GTS.

The fourth annual Doctors Hospital Gala event followed the legendary James Bond: 007 theme and inside the FIU Arena, the Porsche 911 Turbo was on display and in full theme as it featured the iconic “ThunderBall” logo on the hood.

The evening featured a live performance by Grammy-winning artist Sheena Easton. The Scottish-born pop is best known for hits “Modern Girl” and “Nine to Five.” Easton is also applauded for Academy Award-nominated James Bond movie theme for “For Your Eyes Only” — which was fitting for the night’s James Bond theme.

Ugo Colombo’s THE COLLECTION Celebrates Audi and Avengers Film

Avengers: Age of Ultron hit theaters last month and to celebrate the highly-anticipated film Ugo Colombo’s THE COLLECTION invited its Audi enthusiasts to a private screening. Guests were treated to a private theater and complimentary concessions of their choice.

The highly-anticipated film features the next generation 2016 Audi R8, 2015 Audi TTS and the 2015 Audi A3 Cabriolet vehicles alongside the next generation of Avengers characters. The all-new 2nd generation R8 and 3rd generation TTS have, like the Avengers themselves, become icons in popular culture. The R8, which made its initial debut in Iron Man, returns as an even more powerful supercar, while the iconic Audi TTS makes its big screen debut as a completely redesigned coupe.

Loren Angelo, Director of Marketing for Audi of America, says, “After eight years of successful partnerships with Marvel, Audi aligns with the evolving narrative of the Tony Stark character to showcase the all-new, re-designed 2016 R8. Ugo Colombo and The Collection Welcome McLaren 570S Coupe

Ugo Colombo, Ken Gorin and The Collection recently celebrated the arrival of the all-new McLaren 570S Coupé – a mere few days after its premiere at the famed New York Auto Show.

McLaren has completed its three-tier model strategy by adding the Sports Series to the already-established Super Series and Ultimate Series. The Collection is the first dealer to receive the 570S on a multi-dealership North American tour and Ugo Colombo was present to experience the 570S. More than 50 VIP guests join him as they flowed into The Collection for the two-day private appointments. They enjoyed light catering, an augmented reality display of the 570S and a display of McLaren’s jaw-dropping sports cars including the evening’s main-attraction – the all-new 570S; the 650S and McLaren’s hypercar – the P1™.
